Valentine's Day wishes...

Roses filled the room,
soft lingerie hung nearby
sweets sealed the seduction,
while red marked the spot for the love that filled the air!!!

While I have been a bit more occupied than usual, I couldn't go without wishing you an endless day of romance!!!

Obsession: Window Shades...

I never hung curtains in any of my apartments, always custom blinds in a chic design... in my current apartment, I never even changed the standard white blinds that were here when I moved in... they were brand new so I hated to toss them but they are boring me after four years... but instead of custom blinds this time around, I am feeling an update to my window style... perhaps with some window shades???

Have a great weekend!!!

Closet intervention...

With my closets stuffed to the point where things were starting to pile on top of each other, it was time to invest in an armoire...

After finding the armoire and setting it in place, it's time to start filling it...

I'll be going through my closets and switching around seasonal wear this weekend... the perfect way to welcome fall... until Monday!!!

How do you do: Kate Spade "Cloverdale" Dots Rose Bowl...

As I mentioned in an earlier {post}, I purchased a round vase with the plans of tackling a DIY Kate Spade "Cloverdale" Dots Rose Bowl one day... well, I finally did it and here are the easy steps...

Once you have your vase ready to go, you'll need gold gloss enamel paint and a brush with a tip that is about a 1/4 inch thick...

While I drew on the dots freehand, I would definitely say if you can find a stencil with the right size circles then GO FOR IT... once the painting is done, leave to dry for the required time as stated on the bottle...

And finally a DIY well done... enjoy!!!

How do you do: Wallpapered desk...

A few months ago, I {blogged} about moving a desk in my apartment from one room to another and found the lovely idea of refreshing it with some wallpaper... due to the unbearable heat this past weekend, I decided to tackle this DIY... instead of wallpaper, I found this cool vintage inspired shelf liner which was great to use since it had a grid on its back to measure and cut straight lines... so I gathered a pencil, scissors, shelf liner and got to work...

Using the shelf liner was also easier since it is self-adhesive which means if you lay a piece down and it doesn't work, you can just peel it off without any residue left behind... also great to use if you want to update the desk again in the future, all you do is peel it off and add on a new design... after cutting and placing the pieces to match the different angles of the desk, I ended up with a brand new desk...

I promise more pictures once the desk is put in its place and decorated... see you Friday!!!

Not your typical garment display...

As one of those people with limited closet space and no walls to knock down or rooms to convert,  I daydream about how I can work my wardrobe into other living spaces... shoe organizers hung on doors work, but aren't very attractive and piling clothes on top of each other in an effort to make things fit in your closet just doesn't cut it...

On last week's episode of Design Star, I fell in love with the idea of a showroom feel for your treasured bags, shoes and outfits... framed to size, display your goods like the works of art that they are... definitely a future DIY... until Monday!!!

Obsession: Wallpaper covered desks..

I got the itch to redecorate and as always I am on the look out for ways to refresh what I have... I moved the desk from the extra bedroom to the master bedroom but decided it needed a face lift... something to make it more chic... luckily I stumbled on the idea of covering the desk top with a beautiful piece of wallpaper with a piece of glass cut to fit layered on top... enjoy!!!
