Obsession: Crane's electric fireplace heater...

I love small spaces... my obsession started when I visited a family friend's studio apartment... about 10 years old, I was in awe with how the small space housed every room possible including the kitchen... in my NYC apartment, I have a non-working fireplace and have been thinking of something that would work in the space... I think I may have found it in Crane's electric fireplace heater... small at only 9"W x 17"H x 14"D and in colors that pop, this heater is a work of art and functional... and under $100.- gotta love it!!!

Obsession: The Greenbrier...

Since I have been stuck living in Maryland, I have been exploring the areas around me... I've been all over DC... I've explored the beaches and the eastern shore... but there is one place I fancy seeing... The Greenbrier in West Virginia... and this desire was reaffirmed by this fancy spread in the last Bergdorf Goodman magazine... 

This Dorothy Draper decorated resort has a wonderful history having hosted 26 Presidents and even has a bunker that was built years ago for secret emergencies... I'm all booked for my birthday weekend at The Greenbrier... I can't wait to pamper myself at the spa... stay cool this weekend... 

Not your typical garment display...

As one of those people with limited closet space and no walls to knock down or rooms to convert,  I daydream about how I can work my wardrobe into other living spaces... shoe organizers hung on doors work, but aren't very attractive and piling clothes on top of each other in an effort to make things fit in your closet just doesn't cut it... 

On last week's episode of Design Star, I fell in love with the idea of a showroom feel for your treasured bags, shoes and outfits... framed to size, display your goods like the works of art that they are... definitely a future DIY... until Monday!!!

Obsession: Layered tablecloths...

Often layered tablecloths are associated with a bad party scene... clashing materials and colors can take what is meant to be elegant and make it look unflattering and in poor taste... however, when done right layering can be oh so right...

Obsession: Convex mirrors...

While mirrors are fancied more for the framing they are set in, a convex mirror is actually desired more for its curved glass effect... 

Hang it high, hang it low... hang it alone or at the center of it all... the convex mirror is a decor piece that will adjust to any interior style... enjoy!!!

Road to relaxation...

After a busy two weeks of office work, its time for a personal break... I'm all packed and ready to explore someplace new... 

I'm looking forward to pure relaxation with days spent on the beach and evenings of intimate dinners... 

So, as I set out for my escape, warm wishes for a wonderful week!!!

I can not get the Claude Gossip Bench by Jonathan Adler out of my mind... I want to redecorate my bedroom so that I can have this lovely piece...  I picture myself lounging on the bench while I catch up with the girls on a fabulous rotary phone...
